Valentine's Day 2009
The end of 2008 was very hectic here. My carbon monoxide alarm lead to the discovery of a gas leak (from the street), and the fact that I needed a new gas boiler. The new boiler was installed on December 2nd while the gas company dug up my yard and newly paved street. On December 9th, a new gas leak, this time due to an improperly capped pipe during the bolier installation.
Two days later New England was hit by the ice storm and my property suffered major tree, garage roof, and gutter damage. A large branch was resting on the electrical lines, so I had to move out (and empty the new boiler and water tank) for a week, awaiting the overworked National Grid to come and remove the branch off of the lines. A rough end to the year for sure... however now minimized by the loss of my fifteen and a half year old cat, "Taj" in early February due to acute renal failure.
Taj was very loved, and will be sorely missed. Even a new boiler can't seem to warm up the house right now.
Take time this Valentine's Day to show those you love (human or not) what they mean to you.
Happy Valentine's Day, Debi

Parmenter Community Health website
My dad spent nearly half of his last year in different hospitals with many diiferent ailments and admissions. Eventually he ended up at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence (Wayside Hospice) in Wayland, Massachusetts. Although there for only a few weeks before his death in early January 2007, the devoted care he received from both the staff and volunteers made my familys' difficult loss, and my dad's last weeks, as painless as possible. I was so taken by their care I offered to redesign their website at no cost in Dads' memory.

Think Spring!
